Do I have to stay at Excellence Riviera Cancun?

Are Kids Welcome?
Excellence is an adults-only resort, and children under the age of 18 are not permitted on the property. However, we understand that this is a great opportunity to travel with family, and the resort next to Excellence is family friendly! Please contact us to discuss your specific plans. Note: there are an extremely limited number of guests we can have attend the wedding events from off property, so please do not book elsewhere unless you first speak with us regarding your plans.
How do I know if I am in your wedding party?
If you are invited you are a part of THE party. We have chosen not to have a formal wedding party - no traditional "groomsmen" or "bridesmaids." We treasure and value all of you, and we want to spend time with each and every single one of our guests.
What should I wear?
Above all, we want all of our guests to feel comfortable. Check the "Schedule" page for each day's suggested attire and mood board and wear what makes you feel YOUR best. You are fabulous in our book. Keep in mind, the resort has a "dress code" for some of their restaurants. If you choose to use a resort bike to go on a bike ride, you will need closed-toed shoes (Kate made this mistake).
What other expenses should I budget for?
We understand that destination weddings are asking a lot, and we also realize the commitment we are asking our guests to make to join us. Other than your hotel reservation and your flight, you will not have any other required expenses once you arrive in Mexico. Everything you may need or want is included in the price (see the Travel Page for a list of restaurants and activities). Gratuities are also included, but you are free to tip more if that is your vibe. Jeff and Kate typically tip a little for great service - and you will love the service.
SPA
Excellence also offers a spa for relaxing massages and spa treatments at an additional cost, but you can claim a 20% discount.
OFF RESORT ACTIVITIES
Of course, you are also free to leave the resort for other excursions-- but you will not want to!
When should I arrive?
We expect guests will want to arrive on Thursday, September 5th to maximize their time at the resort, however it is not necessary or required. We do plan to have some sort of excursion on Friday before a rehearsal-style dinner (but no rehearsal is taking place because there is no traditional wedding party).

Can I take pictures during the wedding?
We view the wedding ceremony as a special event to share without technology. We will have a photographer. Please refrain from using your phones and give us the gift of your presence during the ceremony. Other than that, please take as many photos as you would like and share with the group.
